Los "conditionales"
The " Conditionals " are certain structures of English in which, if a certain condition , event or circumstance is true, then a particular result happens . Here we see several usual types of "conditional"
Zero Conditional - (Type Zero ) - Situation always true you freeze water , it turns into ice .
First Conditional - (Type I) - actual or potential situation today it rains , I'll stay at home .
Second Conditional - (Type II ) - Scenario I won the lottery , I would travel around the world .
Third Conditional - (Type III ) - pasadoIf hypothetical situation I had won the lottery , I Would have Traveled around the world .
Conditional : wish + past simple - Wish upon a situation irrealI wish I were rich (but I am not)
Conditional : wish + past perfect - I on pasadoI Inglés wish I had learned when i was younger (but I did )
Conditional : wish + would - Expressing displeasure or irritaciónI wish you would stop making that noise
Words to express conditions : Unless , provided , ... You will not pass the exam Unless you study harder .
Past Continuous - ( Past Continuous )
The Past Continuous is a verb tense describes actions that were being made at a time of the year to which it refers and then continued , for example :
Yesterday I was studying Inglés . Yesterday he was studying English .
( Started studying before that time and continued to study later )
John was playing tennis at 10 a.m. John was playing tennis at 10 am
( Began playing tennis before 10 am and continued doing it after )
The Past Continuous is constructed with the auxiliary verb "to be" in its past and the main verb in the infinitive with ING termination :
Note that the negative form is constructed by placing the particle after the verb NOT TO BE. You can also use WAS NOT or Were contracted form .
You can also use this tense to describe two actions that happened in the past and one of them has already been completed . We use the Simple Past to mention it already ended and the Past Continuous to tell what is still running
Past Simple - (Simple Past Tense )
Simple Past tense is used to
describe actions that have happened at an earlier time and have already
completed , for example :
She cleaned her house . She cleaned
her house.
I broke the window . I broke the
window.
Here we see their conjugation in the
Spanish equivalent to the Past Indefinite. Notice that the sentence structure
is similar to the Simple Present :
Both the negative interrogative as
auxiliary DID is used as it is the past form of the verb "TO DO" and
accompanies the main verb in its infinitive form . Negations can be used in the
contracted form of DID or DID NOT . In the top box uses the verb To Play ( Play
) as an example .
By expressing a sentence in the
Simple Past is understood that the action is unrelated to the present , as
shown in the following cases :
I lost the keys. He lost the keys.
( Perhaps in the present you find
them .) She lent me a book . She lent me a book.
( It may have already returned it )
.
It is also possible to indicate the
time when the action is to tell time more accurately :
They saw the movie last night . They
saw the movie last night .
We went to London yesterday . We
went to London yesterday.
In order to form a sentence in the
past tense must distinguish two types : REGULAR VERBS and IRREGULAR VERBS
